This series of photos shows stages of the fabrication of a BSA motorcycle tank from raw sheet metal to finished project. The original tanks on these motorcycles were made of fiberglass and do not tolerate the additives in today's gasoline mixture. This customer wanted to be able to show his bike at vintage meets but could not find any original tanks that did not leak or had not been destroyed by the ethanol in the gasoline. After his third original fiberglass tank started leaking due to the ethanol issue, he asked Bob to fabricate a replica steel tank for his BSA. He did win the award he was hoping for at the show!
