Motorcycle Services:
This is where it starts. At Bodywerks we view your motorcycle as an extension of yourself-your trusted friend if you will. We ride both modern and antique motorcycles ourselves and have had many pleasures touring our country on them. We strive to do the best work possible in the repair and/or restoration of your motorcycle. No matter what vintage the bike is, old or new, we treat each project with the same attention to detail. Our shop does complete sheet metal fabrication of tanks and fenders for restoration projects as needed. We have the experience and knowledge to make your project come to life!
Full Restorations:
Full restorations from rust to finished paint. You supply the parts or have us help find the missing pieces and we'll make everything correct for judging and beautiful. This includes Tins, Frame/Forks, Swingarms, Fenders, Tanks, Tools Boxes, Horns, etc. A big part of the restoration process begins with fit and function of the parts. They will be test fitted numerous times to insure proper alignment and function prior to painting. For instance, if not properly fitted the hinge area on many older Harley, Indians and BMW folding fenders could very well chip the new paint job . With very few exceptions, our shop does not provide the mechanical portion of the restoration.
Repairs:
Have a small mark on a panel, a dent in your tank or maybe you backed into something and dented a fender? Maybe the hinge on the tool box is tight and starting to crack the metal, no worries. We can make it new again! Just let us know what you need. We can match the existing finish or repaint the entire panel if necessary.
Fabrication:
Maybe a part isn't available or its in very sad shape. If a part is beyond repair or missing a section we can make the part new again. With the proper drawings or pictures of the part, we can restore the original part or fabricate the needed part from new sheet metal. We can also alter an existing part for a new function or updated look.
Painting:
We use a multiple step system to insure the durability of the finish. It all starts with sandblasting the steel parts to RAW CLEAN steel and then immediately spraying a layer of Epoxy to prevent any rust or contamination while we do the fitting and other prep work to the pieces. Plastic parts get washed and cleaned with water soluble cleaner the a solvent based product to insure they are clean and then prepping starts. The next step is a primer coat followed by blocking and re-priming then moving on the the actual painting process.
